Senior Software Engineer

Product & Engineering • Engineering

Chicago, Remote, San Diego • Full Time

Job Summary:

We’re super into the work we do and the community we’ve built and think you might be, too.

Why? Well, there’s a lot to be proud of! Q-Centrix is a leading health care information solutions provider, which means we’re all about safer, consistent, quality health care for all. More specifically, we’re laser-focused on helping hospitals unlock the value of their data to improve patient care. We do this thanks, in part, to our team of 1,300+ clinical data experts, problem-solvers, tech enthusiasts and (if we do say so ourselves!) brilliant Product Development and Engineering team members. And while most of our colleagues are remote, we have two great offices—one in Chicago and the other in San Diego. (Both locations are open to local team members who prefer an onsite or hybrid setup.)

The Software Engineering Team at Q-Centrix advances our organization’s mission and purpose by building next-generation software to unlock the power of clinical data. If you're a Software Developer who thrives in a tight-knit team environment, likes designing and developing software solutions, enjoys combining a Scrum process with a strong testing culture and continuous integration, and shares a (potentially unhealthy) obsession with puppies and kittens, this might just be the place for you. You’ll have a leg up if you’re passionate about healthcare and geek out on delivering an amazing and useful application.

Essential Functions:

  • Architect and lead developing of large-scope projects that directly impact our business.
  • Utilize your experience to “see around corners” and anticipate future technical problems with software architecture or gaps in product requirements.

  • Participate in the incident response process, by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Conduct post mortem analysis and communicating with the stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve the quality of software solutions using automated testing and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools and processes.
  • Other Duties: As a growth organization, roles and responsibilities often evolve and adapt over time. As such,  this job description may not comprehensively account for future activities, responsibilities, and priorities—these may evolve right along with us!

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Deep understanding of the principles of software architecture, particular object-oriented design
  • Proficient in a CLI/POSIX environment
